Couch to 5K 1 Year, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm having a baby late in November, and I want to get back in shape as soon as possible after the birth. I would really like to start running (well, jogging) in addition to yoga. Has anyone ever tried this plan?

I just had a baby (he is 11 weeks old) and I started the videos 6 weeks postpartum. They are such a fulfilling experience both physically and mentally that I gave up my desire to run all together. It's great to have the diversity of focus for each practice - and after I am finished, I always, always feel as if I had just completed a live yoga class - they are all motivating, inspirational, and physically challenging. My suggestion is to start with the more vigorous classes like the Legs and the arms and abs then move to backbends, then twisting and finish off with the flexible hips. Maybe save your run for the weekend. But personally for me, I found yoga to be the greatest way to stay in shape throughout my pregnancy and now, being postpartum and about to begin the 30 day yoga challenge, I feel the program offers the best way to get fit, stay fit and increase your fitness overall.
